This is a gentle, supportive and nurturing session in collaboration with qualified forest bather, Annie Jackson and myself. Join us for a few hours of meditative and creative exercises, designed to offer the potential of relaxing and slowing us down. At this event we will lead you on a guided walk slowly through the forest, mostly in silence, and you will be instructed on the art and meditation exercises as we go.
EVENT DATES: Proposed 2026 dates (weather permitting) will be from 12.30 - 5pm on Mondays 27th April for the bluebells, 20th July for summer stillness & 19th October for autumn leaves. Please contact Kate if you are interested.
COST & VENUE: Cost: £67 includes drinks, homemade soup, cake, site fees and a donation to St Barnabas Hospice. The session will take place outdoors in ancient woodland near Poynings, which has water and toilet facilities. Please let me know of any dietary requirements when booking and we will send you directions and further instructions.
Overview of the Event
We will start the session by meeting at the entrance to the forest - there is plenty of parking and toilets on site. Annie will guide us to our base and we will walk from there. There are some well-established pathways but most of the time we will be walking on the forest floor. Homemade soup, cake, tea and coffee is provided and we will finish with a meditation sitting or lying down.
Learn more about forest bathing at the Forest Bathing Institute and let me know if you would like to join us for this relaxing, nurturing and inspiring day.
You will need to bring:
A sketchbook with a board to lean on; drawing pens; pencils; coloured pencils or pastels; sturdy walking shoes or boots; warm, comfortable clothes with a waterproof layer; a blanket and cushions. Camping stools, chairs and yoga mats are provided but you may wish to bring your own. You are also welcome to bring any additional art materials you enjoy working with - the art exercises are relatively short and will need to be portable.
“Yesterday’s afternoon session combining forest bathing with art was a triumph! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and found the whole experience quelled the 21st century frenzy by grounding, calming and engaging the senses whilst stimulating the right side of the brain. Thank you both so much for all the thought and care put into yesterday’s success and providing us all with such delicious sustenance. Outside of teaching, meditations and art, the refreshments were delicious! The weather could not have been better, the bluebells were at their best and it was simply a wonderful, fun experience. ”
“I was a bit nervous as to what to expect but Annie and Kate made us feel very at ease and talked us through the day before setting off and immersing ourselves in the beautiful forest. ”
“Forest bathing is an excellent way to regain focus and stability, also increasing healthy immunity. The artistic element adds concentration and pleasure.”
“Reflective and uplifting experience. Good for the mind, for the soul and the development of artistic skill i.e. acquisition of some strategies to convey all this through art.”
